when is the next release

Postby paperandqk on Fri Jan 08, 2010 6:22 am

I have had some dies in my shopping cart for awhile but I want to wait for the next release. I wonder what it could be?

Did anyone pick up any of the dies from the last release?

I've heard this will be their last big release, and that future releases will be much smaller... I wonder what that is all about (maybe it has to do with the lawsuit vs Spellbinders???

Yes this is their last big release. There will be another release this month in connection with CHA but it's not big, or so I hear. I am glad there will be smaller releases now.

kerry---I hear ya about the money prob--my dh is still laid off. He went back to work for two weeks in Dec and then was laid off again. I also understand about the catching up on the other releases. I am hoping this release will not be too big and not a must have on a lot of the dies--like that will happen

Well the way things are going here, as I too am jobless. I can't see myself making any huge purchases at the moment. Though I have sooooo much QK and such a huge scrap stash that I'm sure I wont use it all in my life time hahaha

Ok Kylie.... You need to 'come out of the closet' and tell the rest of the world that doesn't know that you are a JEMMA junkie! You probably make tons of money, but you give it all to the box office! LOL! You silly girl! I promise to find out if Wicked will be anywhere near me. I will let you know. In the mean time, I'll keep spending MY money on QK

Seriously, I thought us QK addicts were obsessed... we don't hold a candle to you and Jemma!

lol you are sooo funny lol but just tooo true hahaha
I thought I was out of the "closet" lol I thought everyone knows about how much I <3 Wicked and Jemma Rix!

The only good thing is that Wicked to a "Wicked Lottery" all over the world. So basically you put your name down 2.5 hrs before the show and they draw out 7 or 8 names and those people get 2 front row tickets for $30 each (not sure how much it is in the states, but I believe that several hundred people lotto in the US, whereas in Sydney there is like 50-100 people). I've tried the lottery ten times now lol and only won for the first time (on my 9th try!) on Saturday at the matinee. Though, I do have a very lucky Wicked Buddy - Mary! So that's why we go oh so often lol. For the past two Saturday, we have been front row in both matinee and night shows! It is awesome!!! But two show's in a day is quite tiring lol
We generally only try for the second show because Jemma is on lol! and Mary would have given her tickets away on Saturday night if it wasn't for me, knowing how much I <3 seeing Jemma lol
So thankfully, because of Mary it isn't costing us as much lol

As far as QK goes, it will be around forever I'm sure! So if I consecrate on seeing Wicked at the moment lol because we don't know how long it will be on for!

I'm guessing you saw the You Tube clip of Jemma?

I admit it lol I'm a Jemma junkie lol but I'm not even close to many dedicated WICKED fans I have met lol. I've seen it 10 times now lol I've met people who have seen it 40, 50, 60+ times no joke!!!

I doubt it has anything to do with the lawsuit - and much more to do with the economic reality that people are not spending as much as they used to on extra things like scrapbook supplies. I think smaller releases will be nicer. I just hope they continue offering a variety of 2x2/4x4/Cookie Cutters.

I did read the lawsuit info on the QK website. Quickutz has countersued Spellbinder's on several claims, and the American die manufacturer who helped start Spellbinder's is a witness for QK. I am not sure where the lawsuit will end up, but I don't think that it's near as big a deal as many have made it out on message boards. Then again, I deal with lawsuits for a living, so the idea of one doesn't scare me as it does lay-persons.

Thanks for the perspective from someone who deals with the law as a profession. I too have wondered how "the lawsuit" was going to effect QK. One of the many perks of being on such a great message board here, we have such a wonder, eclectic group of friends who can share insight. Thanks for the info without the hype that, as you yourself said, has been running ramped among many boards out there.
